Neko Health London Review: Is This the Future of Preventive Health?

Updated: 2 days ago

Intro

I didn’t go to Neko Health for reassurance.

I went to identify gaps.

I visited the Spitalfields clinic in London with one question in mind: is this real value, or just well-packaged innovation?

Inside the Experience

Neko Health Spitafileds

Neko Health was founded by Daniel Ek, the co-founder of Spotify, with a clear idea: make preventive healthcare fast, accessible, and data-driven.

The London clinic feels exactly how you’d expect.

Minimal. Quiet. Almost clinical, but in a futuristic way.

No waiting rooms, no chaos.

You move through a structured sequence of machines designed to capture three layers: external, cardiovascular, and internal.

A full-body 3D scanner maps your skin and microcirculation.

Cardiovascular sensors assess blood pressure, flow, and heart rhythm.

Blood markers give immediate insight into lipids, glucose, and inflammation.

The standout is the skin scanner.

Hundreds of sensors capture high-resolution data in seconds, identifying patterns you wouldn’t see with a standard check.

It’s efficient. Frictionless. Very well executed.

The Missing Piece: Performance Metrics

Changing at Neko Health in London

For something positioned around longevity, one key metric is missing: VO2 max.

This matters.

VO2 max is one of the strongest indicators of long-term health and mortality because it measures how your body performs under stress.

Health at rest tells you where you are.

Performance under load tells you what you’re capable of.

In practice, VO2 max is measured through an ergometer test:treadmill or bike, progressive intensity, oxygen consumption tracked in real time.

It’s uncomfortable, but it’s objective.

Without it, you’re only seeing part of the picture.

My Results — Strong, But Contextual

Neko Health Results

My results came back strong.

Heart rate: 48 bpm

Blood pressure: normal

Cholesterol and inflammation: optimal

Heart age: younger than actual

That confirms the baseline is solid.

But one marker stood out.

Lymphocytes flagged as “monitor.”

Not a concern, but something to track.

Context Changes Everything

There’s an important detail.

Six weeks before this test, I completed a three-day autophagy phase.

That likely influenced the results.

Short-term interventions like fasting can significantly improve blood markers, especially inflammation and metabolic health.

So the data is strong, but not neutral.

It reflects both long-term habits and recent strategy.

I break this down properly in a separate article on autophagy.

Who This Is Actually For

This is not a performance lab.

It’s a high-quality health snapshot.

For busy professionals who rarely check their health, it’s excellent.

For athletes or high-level performers, it’s incomplete.

Because performance isn’t measured in a relaxed state.

It’s measured under load.

Compared to High-End Diagnostics

Neko Health Spitafileds London Summary Tests

I’ve done more advanced testing.

Private clinics, full medicals, specialist labs.

They go deeper:

VO2 max

Hormonal profiling

Cardiac stress testing

But they’re slower, fragmented, and less accessible.

Neko sits in between.

More advanced than a standard check-up.

Less complete than elite diagnostics.

Which makes it efficient, but not definitive.

Why I Did It

The main reason was specific.

Skin mapping.

Tracking changes over time at that level of detail is something most people ignore until it becomes a problem.

Everything else was secondary.

And to be honest, I was also curious.

The technology, the experience, the environment.

It feels like a glimpse into where healthcare is going.

Positioning

This is exactly how I approach performance with my clients.

We don’t rely on one test.

We combine data, performance metrics, and real-world execution.

Next Step

If you’re already investing in your performance but want a more structured approach to training, recovery, and longevity, that’s where I can help.

And if you want to step out of your routine and reset everything properly, you’ll experience that inside my retreats.
